Sonia Troupe is an experienced educator with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and Bachelors degrees in Black Studies and Biblical Studies, in addition to being a Simply Wisdom Leader and Moderator.
She has enjoyed teaching children with special needs and students deemed at risk for more than 30 years, and has also trained teachers to work with and support these children's families.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Sonia and her younger sister moved to the United States at the age of 14 to live with their single mother, who worked three jobs to support them while teaching them the importance of diligence, loyalty, and hard work.
Sonia believes that children are a gift from the Lord.
As a result of her lifelong commitment to teaching "Life Skills" to kids, teens, and adults, The Village Foundation Learning Academy, Incorporated was established.
The Village Foundation Learning Academy is dedicated to educating and equipping young people and their families by empowering them to use their knowledge, talents, and skills to profoundly impact our world.
Our goal is to support our families by helping all to learn new skills and develop their individual gifts, to achieve their full potential -intellectually, physically and spiritually.
